WORLD WIDE ANTI WHALING DAY!!!!!

This is the speech that I wrote for today..hope you like it!
  • Today, residents of Southern California, ask you Japan, to cease whaling in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary! We ask you to stop the inhumane and cruel killing of Earth’s majestic creatures. Your murder of humpbacks and finback whales, both endangered species, is an atrocity and you should be ashamed of yourselves. We DEMAND you to stop!

  • Your disguise of whaling for research purposes is widely speculated to be false and we ask that you publish your research to prove your reasons for whaling. Until then, we will maintain you are whaling commercially and you are breaking the global moratorium of 1986 and the 1994 moratorium in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.

  • Whaling has no place in the world today. You ask us to respect your culture but you cannot respect the world’s oceans. You do not own the oceans so stop acting like you do! We will be here every year Japan as long as whaling continues.

  • Today, November 5, 2010, in 57 cities worldwide, we demand you to stop whaling!endangered species is an atrocity and you should be ashamed of yourselves. We DEMAND you stop!

Remember, it’s not research when it shows up in Japanese fish markets![Soft Break]Whaling has no place in the world today. You do not own the oceans so stop acting like you do! We will be here every year Japan as long as whaling continues.

  • Today, November 5, 2010, we demand you to stop whaling!

WWAWD Eve

You know that feeling you get on Christmas Eve? That over excitement and hurry up feeling? I so don't have that feeling right now. More like nervous and anxious. But so freaking happy at the same time! Maybe I need a zanex. Or a a shot of rum. Or both.

In a little over 12 hours I will lead a demonstration in front of the Japanese consulate in LA and I'm excited. It's been a long 5 months. I got involved back in July when it was still pretty new and not many cities. But now we are over 50 cities. I've met a lot of really awesome people and made a lot of connections. I even hung out with Pete Bethune for a couple of hours! And we were sober! LOL

It's great to meet so many people who have the same views as you do. I didn't realize that many people cared about anti whaling and dolphin killing.  The world needs more people like that.

Can't wait to meet you all tomorrow!!

Clean The Oceans For Lily

Gray whales are my favorite whales. They are so haunting looking and so beautiful and I just want to swim with them.

In April of this year, San Diego had a whale swim into the bay. It wasn't here for very long at all. If you blinked, you missed it. In May a baby gray whale died in Dana Point, CA. At first the whale was thought to be a male but was a female and she was named Lily. She had become entangled in 30ft of fishing nets and lost her pod. Part of the net was in her mouth. She died after a five day struggle.

Jacinda Smith is the creator of the Clean the Oceans For Lily group. They are dedicated to ridding the oceans of the unwanted, free floating fishing nets that are no longer used. Tonight they will hold their first annual dinner party and you are invited!!

RIC O'BARRY YOU ARE MY HERO !!!

Ric O'Barry brought us Flipper and while I think I was maybe 8 at the most, I loved that show. I wanted to be Flipper too I think. At least I remember wanting to be Flipper. I still know the theme song!!

Then Ric O'Barry brought us the award winning documentary, "The Cove". I don't even remember the last time I cried that hard. There was this fire burning inside of me during the last 20 minutes of that movie. This feeling that I don't even know how to describe. People warned me too. They warned me knowing how much of an emotional person I am that I might not be able to take it. I waited to watch it too. I waited until I thought I was ok and while I should never have watched it, I'm glad it did. Cause it sparked a fire in my ass to get out there and do something to stop the killing of our dolphins in Taiji. And the most powerful part of the movie wasn't even the slaughter, it was the very end when Ric walked into the IWC with that video screen on his chest and stopped in front of several people. Ric, you made me bawl my eyes out even more. I wanted to be you at that moment. I wanted to be part of your group of people. I wanted to be standing right there holding people's faces so they couldn't turn away from the slaughter. And I wanted to be with you on that city street with all those people walking by.  You didn't move an inch. Ric O'Barry you are my hero!

November 2 was supposed to be a day of hope for all of us dolphin lovers. But deep down inside, I think we knew that we'd lose. But that didn't stop you Ric from speaking out and I have to say once again you are my hero. You are my hero for not bowing down and letting Mayor Sangen kick the media out and not letting your voice be heard!!!

Well, well Sea World..why did Sumar die?

God bless the folks I work with. They constantly tease me about eating dolphin sushi or whale steaks..most of it I laugh off. I mean men do LOVE to tease women after all..I do not take them seriously. One of the cool things about being the 2nd to youngest here, they take pretty good care of me. They treat me like I'm a little sister. And all of them know my love for our marine babies. So I wasn't surprised today when EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM(13) asked me if I had seen the article about the dolphins on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune, November 1, 2010. (I secretly grabbed it out of the break room this morning before any of them had seen me) Sumar was mentioned towards the end of it. He was an Orca who died at the age of 12 here in sunny San Diego. He was a star at Sea World(vomit) and one day he just died. This was back in September. I think the 8th was the day he became an angel in ocean heaven. So here we are, November 2 and I've still not seen a cause of death anywhere..UNTIL I read this article. A twisted intestinal tract. And Sea World is saying his death is in no way related to his being in captivity. So there you have it. I'm no Orca expert. But I do know that animals do not belong in captivity, especially a bath tub.

BOYCOTT AZ STATE FAIR!!! November 3, 2010

And a giant F U to Troy Gentry of that headache of a group Montgomery Gentry. Gosh I despise that music...anyway..this giant douchebag bought a bear that needed expensive dental work..what did he do?? Well, instead of digging deep into his million dollar pockets to pay for the dental work, the ass-face shot 5 arrows into a tame bear named Cubby killing him! And for what? Entertainment?! And filmed it! It's kind of like a sex tape..don't get be surprised when it's put out to the public. ( I have the video footage but no I'm not posting that sick stuff).  He first claimed to have shot it in the wild..LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!! But then later admitted to his dirty deed of killing the tame bear. And he was fined only $15,000. Double WTF!

Well Arizona, there's a hero for you. Hope you don't get booed too much while he's there. Good luck with that! BOOOOOOOO Arizona State Fair, boo on you!

For more information, check out the link below and say WADDUP YO to Eric S. Cox and Eric Adam who work to bring these types of stories to us. :)

November 1, 2010(or 2 in Japan)

Today is the DAY! Or at least I hope it is. Today Ric O'Barry and his son, Lincoln and the Cove Guardians and the ahem, fishermen(or asshats) will be meeting today, the first ever meeting, to discuss the dolphin drive-or vicious, savage murder as I like to refer to it. Or blood bath if you will. Or whatever grotesque image you can picture. Kazutaka Sangen, the mayor of Taiji will rear is face(have we actually seen him lately?) but the meeting won't be open to the general public.

So they want to keep stabbing to death our beautiful dolphins and we want them to stop. Sounds like a battle that will never end. But that doesn't mean we will give up the good fight.

In the mean time, enjoy this beautiful video.
